Tesla Model 3 (Long Range)

Updated: Aug 20, 2021

Introduction:

Hi readers, my name is Sarthak Mahajan and today I’ll introduce you’ll to Tesla model 3 (Long Range).

Description:

As usual, this blog is divided into 6 sections – overview, Exterior with subsections, Interior with subsections, Battery and Driving Range, Safety features, Colours.

1) Overview:

So, the reason I selected Tesla Model 3 is that recently this specific Tesla has been spotted test in camouflage on Indian roads. For now, Tesla doesn’t have any competitors as there are not many EVs available in India. Yet Audi, Mercedes, Jaguar has launched EVs from their side but again they aren’t a competition for Tesla, because what Tesla offers is something that they can’t (I’m talking about price). Since Tesla is offering This Tesla Model 3 with an estimated price tag of Rs. 60.00 Lakh. Which Mercedes, Audi, or Jaguar doesn’t offer.

2) Exterior:

1. Front Design:

At front there is no grille, of course, it doesn’t need one, but there is an opening on the lower part of the bumper. Headlights are projector as well as a reflector and on the upper side of headlights there is DRL and where the fog lamp is placed just beside that, indicators are placed. There are parking sensors combined in the bumper. And the most important thing, as it doesn’t have an engine so replacing the engine there is a front trunk also known as “frunk” which is 55 litres. Tesla Logo is finished in chrome.

2. Side Design:

The side view is the best view of this car, the aerodynamic design and that coupe-like sloping roof! Just a piece of art. So the alloys are coloured in white and door handles are integrated into the body (again to give smoothness in design). There is no body cladding and at the rear side, the charging port is integrated (kind of invisible) in taillights. Also, there are no roof rails.

3. Rear Design:

Nothing is special at the rear as such, but there are some bits to be mentioned like there are no fog lamps at the rear and taillights are all led and the boot is closed by pressing a button inside boot. And there is also an integrated spoiler to improve aerodynamic efficiency. The boot space is 425 litres when added both frunk and rear trunk.

3) Interior:

1. Interior Front:

There is a lot to talk about interior, especially that large 15inch touch panel. There are no physical buttons, not a single one! Everything is controlled by that huge screen, turning on and off headlights, opening frunk and trunk, everything you think about can be done with that screen. Seats are well cushioned, there is space to keep your phone and there is space below the armrest too. The seats are ventilated too.

2. Interior rear:

There is an ample amount of leg room and space at the rear. But storage space in rear is not that much as front. And this place is strictly for 2 people as there is no middle headrest, though a seat belt is given for middle the passenger but again it isn’t the most comfortable place to be in. There are magazine holders too. Also, the rear headrests aren’t adjustable. The roof is panoramic but there is a partition in middle.

4) Battery and Driving Range:

The range of this Long Range AWD is 353 miles i.e. 568 km. And this car can do 0-100 kmph in just 4.2s. This all power is given by Tesla’s Dual Motor.

5) Safety Features:

Tesla Model 3 has scored a 5-star overall NHTSA rating. For driver and passengers too.

6) Colours:

Model 3 is offered in 5 colours- Pearl White Multi-Coat, Deep Blue Metallic, Solid Black, Red Multi-Coat, Midnight Silver Metallic.
